The Giants season may be over and postseason baseball is still going on but the club has signed 24 year old infielder Drew Robinson to a minors deal.
Robinson spent last season with the Cardinals after being dealt from the Rangers for third baseman Patrick Wisdom. The Las Vegas native was drafted by the Rangers in 2010 in the 4th round and spent 2 seasons with the Rangers. He hit .204 with 9 homers and 22 RBIs including 8 doubles in 95 games and 2116 at bats. While with the Cardinals this year he hit just .143 in 7 plate appearances with only 1 hit and 3 strikeouts and was released on August 28th.
Robinson has hit .252 during his time in the minors with 106 homers, collecting 456 RBIs, 44 triples and knocking 172 doubles in 3686 plate appearances. He also played 54 games in the Dominican and Puerto Rican leagues and totaled 2 home runs and 13 RBIs.
