The Sacramento Rivercats gave their fans something to celebrate rather than being its 20 year anniversary of being in Sacramento. They have one class titles in back to back years 2007-2008 and league titles in 2003-2004-2007-2008 but this was when the Oakland A's had the Rivercats as their affiliate.
(The A's affiliate is now the Las Vegas Aviators after switching from the Nashville Sounds)
Sacramento trounced visiting Salt Lake City 9-6 but the exciting part wasn't the fireworks after the game but the fireworks during the game.
Henry Ramos hit 2 home runs, Aramis Garcia, Mac Williamson and Mike Gerber added solo shots and local kid Zach Green had a 2-run dinger. The club had 6 on the night along with 3 extra base hits for a total of 10 hits on the night.
Andrew Suarez recorded the win and is now 2-1 after pitching 5 innings with 6 strikeouts, a pair of walks and 4 runs allowed off 5 hits.
Former Rivercat and Giant Jarrett Parker who is now in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization got the start in right field and had a triple and an RBI on the night. Parker was released last Spring and the Angels signed him during the Winter to a minors deal.
