Joey Bart doubles in debut as Giants roll

Joey Bart was called up prior to first pitch tonight and Tyler Heineman was sent to Sacramento as Joey McCarthy was designated for assignment. The Giants trailed 1-0 early going into the bottom of the 1st but Austin Slater doubled to lead off and after Mike Yastrzemski grounded out, Wilmer Flores stepped up. Flores homered to center field for his 6th homer of the year and give the Giants a 2-1 lead. Bart was hit by a hit by a pitch in his long-awaited first career MLB at-bat three batters later.Brandon Crawford and Mauricio Dubon singled to open the bottom of the 2nd and then advanced on a Jose Suarez wild pitch. Austin Slater grounded out but Mike Yastrzemski doubled in both runners and the Giants went up 4-1. Wilmer Flores walked and then Evan Longoria came up and singled in Yastrzemski to add on to the clubs lead. Brandon Belt walked and Joey Bart struck out in his 2nd at-bat of the game. Alex Dickerson walked with the bases loaded to extend their lead to 6-1 stil in the bottom of the 2nd. Mauricio Dubon led off the bottom of the 3rd with a walk and Austin Slater singled him to 3rd base as Mike Yastrzemski flew out but Dubon tagged up and went to 3rd base. Slater stole 2nd and then Wilmer Flores singled in both runners to push their lead to 8-1 on the night. Brandon Crawford hit a solo shot in the bottom of the 4th for his 100th career homer for his 2nd homer of the season. Brandon Belt singled to lead off the bottom of the 6th and Joey Bart doubled him to 3rd base for his first career hit. Alex Dickerson grounded out but Belt scored on the play as they led10-4. Wilmer Flores had 3 hits on the night as Slater and Crawford each had 2 of the teams 12 total on the night. The Giants have now won 3 games in a row. Starter Kevin Gausman recorded his first win of the year going 5 1/3 innings and allowed 4 runs on 9 hits with 8 strikeouts and walked 1 batter.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim did all they could to spoil Joey Barts debut and snap their 2 game losing streak. Tommy La Stella with 1 out to open the ballgame as Anthony Rendon scored him with a single to put the Angels on top 1-0. The Angles offense went quiet for 4 innings before Luis Rengifo walked and went to 3rd on a David Fletcher single with Tommy La Stella coming up. La Stella grounded out as Rengifo scored but it made a small crack in the Giants 9-2 lead. Mike Trout extended the inning with a single to put Fletcher on 3rd as Anthony Rendon came up and scored Fletcher inching closer to the Giants sizeable lead. Anthony Bemboom homered to deep right field for his first hit of the season to make it a 9-4 Giants lead. Mike Trout tripled high off the left-field wall in the top of the 7th and then stayed on 3rd as the Angels got to Giants pitched and had the bases loaded for Anthony Benboom. He walked as Trout scored and the lead was down to 5 runs but Luis Rengifo struck out to end the threat. Rendon led all Angels hitters with 3 hits as they went 3-14 with 10 runners left in scoring position. Starter Jose Suarez was done after 1 1/3 innings with 5 runs allowed off 5 hits with 1 walk and didn't record any strikeouts.
