Home runs pave the way to SF get over .500

The San Francisco Giants have now won 4 in a row and 14 out of their last 19 games. San Francisco trailed 1-0 after the top of the 1st inning and after a Mike Yastrzemski strikeout and Alex Dickerson fly out, Donovan Solano stepped to the plate. Solano tripled for the 1st time this season and then Brandon Belt singled him to tie the game at 1-1. San Francisco trailed again in the bottom of the 3rd 5-1 and had 2 quick outs against them before Alex DIckerson came up. DIckerson launched his 8th home run of the year almost to McCovey Cove and Donovan Solano continued the inning with a double. Brandon Belt again singled in Solano and the Giants trimmed Seattle's lead to 5-3. Joey Bart singled up the middle with 2 outs in the bottom of the 4th before Mauricio Dubon hit a high ball to the right field bleachers to tie the game at 5-5. Darin Ruf pinch hit for Alex Dickerson with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th and hit his 4th career pinch hit homer and first since 2016. Ruf's 3rd home run of the year broke the 5-5 tie and gave the Giants the lead late in the game. Donovan Solano came a home run shy of hitting for the cycle as he led the way with 3 of the teams 11 hits. Starter Logan Webb was done after 5 innings, he allowed 5 runs off 6 hits with 4 strikeouts and walked 3 batters. The Giants have hit 59 home runs and 33 have been smashed at Oracle Park.

The Seattle Mariners thought they were about to win their 7th game when JP Crawford and Dylan Moore led the game off with a walk and hit by pitch. Kyle Lewis grounded out to advance the runners and Kyle Seager also grounded out, but Crawford scored on the play to make it a 1-0 game. The club loaded the bases with 1 out in the top of the 2nd when Evan White singled, Luis Torrens singled to put White on 3rd base and then Shed Long Jr walked. JP Crawford doubled to clear the bases, but was out advancing to 3rd base when Joey Bart caught the off mark throw by Brandon Crawford and threw it back to Pablo Sandoval to nab Crawford at 3rd. Ty France tripled to center field with 1 out in the top of the 3rd and then scored on a Jose Marmolejos single to put Seattle up 5-1. The Mariners had 4 players with at least 2 hits on the night as they finished with 10 total and a dreadful 2-10 from the plate with 8 runners in scoring position. Ljay Newsome threw just 1 1/3 innings and allowed 1 run off 2 hits with a pair of strikeouts and 0 walks.
