The San Francisco Giants have made another roster move that will put infielder Zach Green on the 60 day injured list. The club made space for left handed pitcher Wandy Peralta, whom they claimed off the Reds waiver wire.
Peralta was 1-1 in 39 games for the Reds this year with a 6.09 ERA totaling 27 strikeouts in 34 innings of work. He first signed with the Reds on May 29, 2010 but didn't make his debut until September 4. 2016 when he pitched 1 inning of relief with a walk and strikeout against the Cardinals. He is 6-7 in 177 career games but has never made a start collecting 120 strikeouts in 150.1 innings with 77 walks.
The 25 year old from the Dominican Republic will join the club Monday when they host the Pirates.
Zach Green will be recalled and sent to the 60 day injured list with a hip impingement. He was already on the 7 day injured list while with the Rivercats on August 21. Green hit .143 in 14 at bats for the Giants with 1 RBI but hit .282 in 252 at bats for AAA Sacramento with 25 homers and 64 RBIs.
