Goodbye Raley Field, hello Sutter Health Park

Updated: Mar 2, 2020

For nearly 20 years, the Sacramento Rivercats called Raley Field home, but the name is a memory now as the new name of the stadium is Sutter Health Park. Raley Field hosted the MILB All Star Game back in 2005. It has also been home to a friendly soccer match between Mexican team Dorados de Sinaloa and Premier League team Norwich City F.C. as Norwich won 3-0.

The Salons were the first baseball team in Sacramento 1903 but the Rivercats were first founded when the Oakland A's were its MLB affiliate for 15 years. The 2020 season will mark its 4th year as the Giants being the clubs MLB affiliate. The A's affiliate is now the Las Vegas Aviators.

Raley Field was where season ticket holder Eric Sagara and wife Julie saw the Rivercats beat El Paso 8-4 that sent the club to the playoffs last season. They could be considered good luck charms as the club won its first PCL Championship since going back to back in 2007 and 2008. Sagara added he loves Dinger Dogs and hopes that Sutter Health Park will still carry them and not to forget onions and ketchup on the side! The married couple of 5 years have been season ticket holders for 1 year and both enjoy getting autographs during pregame. Eric's favorite memory of Raley Field has been becoming close with pitcher Enderson Franco and adding to his baseball card collection. They both told me they are on the hunt for their first foul ball, Eric said "it would be awesome to finally get one" as Julie added "yeah I really want one too!."

So thank you Raley Field for the concerts, ballgames and of course the entertainment, we know Sutter Health Park won't disappoint!
