Giants trade Hamilton to Mets

The Giants have made a trade with the New York Mets to acquire right-handed pitcher Jordan Humphreys. San Francisco will send outfielder Billy Hamilton to New York to finalize the trade, Hamilton came to the Giants on a minor league deal in February and never saw any playing time once the season started. During Spring Training te former Reds base stealer was 3-21 with a double, triple, and 7 strikeouts.

Jordan Humphreys joins the Giants bullpen and has pitched as high as A ball while in the Mets organization. New York drafted him in the 2014 June Amateur Draft out of Crystal River High School in Florida. The 24-year-old right-hander was 13-7 in 35 games which included 28 games over a 4 season span. He had 177 strikeouts in 169 2/3 innings of work against 677 batters faced while only coughing up 30 walks and a 2.60 ERA.
