Giants stop by Coors Field for 2 game series

Colorado native Kevin Gausman was stayed put before and now after the trade deadline. He makes his 7th start tonight for the Giants and looks to go 2-2. In his last start against the Rockies, he took the loss after 5 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs (3 earned) off 5 hits with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk. He has eclipsed just 6 innings once this year, going 6 1/3 innings against the Dodgers on August 9th in a lising effort. The Giants are 1-5 when Gausman takes the mound in the starting role.

Jon Gray will get his 8th start of the year and look to go 3-3 and finished the month of August with a 2-3 record in 5 starts. He faces the Giants today for a second time this season and will look for a bounceback win. Gray pitched 6 innings back in early August against the Giants and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) with 2 strikeouts and no walks for a no decision. Colorado lost 4-3, and the Rockies are 3-4 when the Shawnee, Oklahoma native takes the mound. Opponents are hitting .256 off him in 4 starts at Coors Field while giving up 4 home runs and allowing none on the road, his ERA at home is 6.55 compared to his 5.45 overall.
