The Giants have signed former Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Silvino Bracho to a minor league deal. He spent his first 5 seasons with Arizona going 2-2 in that time with 94 strikeouts and a 4.82 ERA in 92 games out of the bullpen. He had also spent time in their minor league organization going 13-11 in 173 games totaling 354 strikeouts and compiled a 2.72 ERA.
The 28-year-old right-hander from Venezuelan had Tommy John surgery in 2019 but pitched just 1 inning and allowed 2 runs off 2 hits and struck out 1 batter in 2020. He also pitched for the Venezuelan Winter League and in 65 games has gone 4-5 with 85 strikeouts.
The minor league season may happen in 2021 but Bracho joins just 7 other pitchers on the Sacramento Rivercats roster right now.
