Giants send catcher Kratz to Tampa Bay

The San Francisco Giants have sent veteran catcher Erik Kratz to the Tampa Bay Rays with cash in exchange for right hander Matt Seelinger. Kratz was acquired from Milwaukee in March for minor league infielder CJ Hinojosa. He played in 15 games collecting 32 at bats for the Giants and hit a dismal .125 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs including 2 doubles.

Seelinger was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 28th round in 2017. Seelinger was then traded to the Rays in the trade that sent shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria to the Rays in 2018. Seelinger has spent his time in the minors and will report to AA Richmond, he has a record of 4-4 in 62 games with a 3.21 ERA totaling 111 strikeouts in 84 innings pitched. 

Aramis Garcia was optioned back to AAA Sacramento a corresponding roster move hasn't been announced yet. Garcia played in 3 games and had 1 homer with 2 RBIs in 6 at bats.
