Giants seek a win in Cahill's return to Arizona

Trevor Cahill will take the mound again against the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2nd time in less than a week. He helped his club complete the sweep last week and going 5 1/3 innings with 1 run and 1 hit allowed while striking out 8 and walking 2 batters. As mentioned before, the right-hander was with the Diamondbacks from 2012-2014 and had a record of 24-34 in 90 total games. He made 74 starts while striking out 363 batters and having a 4.29 ERA. He is 10-17 overall in his career at Chase Field with 44 games under his belt including 37 starts with a 4.95 ERA. After winning 7 games in a row the Giants have lost 3 in a row and are being outscored 16-4.

Luke Weaver will look for a different result this time against the Giants. In the loss last week, Weaver threw 5 2/3 innings with 2 runs off 5 hits with 1 walk and struck out 5 batters. The Florida State University alum is just 1-3 in front of his home cardboard cutouts for his career in 7 games. He's totaled a 4.54 ERA in those starts while striking out 39 batters in 37 2/3 innings against 159 batters. The Giants are hitting .216 off him with 22 hits including 7 doubles and 3 homers.
