Tyler Anderson got a rude awakening in his Giants debut tonight against the Dodgers. He was shelled for 2 runs off 4 hits with 3 walks over 1 2/3 innings of work Friday night. The Giants bullpen was roughed up again after Anderson was relieved of his duties for the night. San Francisco allowed 7 runs off 10 hits with only 3 strikeouts and walked 5 batters. The club trailed 2-0 heading into the top of the 3rd when Jaylin Davis hit a solo shot to right field off of Dodgers starter Ross Stripling. The Giants mustered only 3 other hits on the night as 2 came from newcomer Wilmer Flores, both singles. The defense committed 4 errors in the tough defeat.

The Los Angeles Dodgers bats once again came alive against their NL West rivals to improve to 2-0 on the season. Ross Stripling got himself a win after going 7 innings and allowed just 1 run off 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and walked no one. Max Muncy hit his 1st home run to give the Dodgers a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. Joc Pederson singled to open the bottom of the 2nd inning and then went to 2nd base on a Max Muncy walk but then scored on a Justin Turner single. Max Muncy and Justin Turner went back-to-back with 1 out doubles to push their lead to 3-1. Will Smith hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 5th inning to extend their lead to 4-1 but Muncy launched his 2nd home run of the game in the very next inning. Mookie Betts recorded his first RBI as a Dodger in the bottom of the 7th that scored Joc Pederson to put the game at 7-1 and Chris Taylor also roped an RBI single for himself. Will Smith picked up his 2nd RBI of the game after coaxing a bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th. Muncy and Corey Seager each had 3 of the teams 12 hits as Los Angeles was 4-14 with 10 runners left in scoring position.
