Giants release two pitchers and outfielder

Tyson Ross signed with the Giants in January in hopes of making the big league club off a Spring Training invite. He appeared in 3 games over the Spring but after COVID-19 canceled the rest of Spring Training the Giants released Ross today. He had only 2 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings for San Franciso with a pair of walks against 17 batters faced.

Nick Vincent was another veteran reliever released by the Giants today. He signed with the club in 2019 and was later released after a right pec strain and a 5.58 ERA in 18 games including 1 start. Vincent came back to the club on another minor league deal this Spring and things didn't improve. In 5 games, Vincent allowed 3 homers and struck out 4 batters but had an ERA of 15.75 in just 4 innings.

The San Francisco Giants signed longtime minor league outfielder Jamie Westbrook at the beginning of January. The 25-year-old appeared in 7 games during Spring Training with a .333 batting average but had 4 hits in 12 at-bats including 1 RBI.
