Giants catch big wave & sign Jepsen to UDFA

Wil Jepsen won't have to relocate all that far after first drafted by the Oakland A's in last year's June Amateur Draft. Today the righty signed with their Bay Area rival San Francisco Giants on an undrafted free agent deal. He comes out of the University of Pepperdine in which he threw160 1/3 innings in 28 games (25 starts) and struck out 105 batters. The Cottonwood High alum was 10-9 at Pepperdine with a 3.03 ERA and issued just 46 walks including a 12-2 win against Michigan and had an 8 strikeout performance. In 2018 he needed Tommy John Surgery and came back in 2019, making 3starts going 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA.
