Gausman still seeking first win in 2020

Kevin Gausman is still in search of his first win while a member of the San Francisco Giants. He took a no-decision the other night against the Padres after going 4 1/3 innings and allowed 3 runs off 6 hits with 8 strikeouts. Tonight he takes on the Rockies, a team he has faced just once in his 8-year career but never at Coors Field. He faced them last year as a member of the Braves before being traded to the Reds later in the year. The Braves pulled off the victory but the LSU alum pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 tuns off 5 outs with 5 strikeouts for a no-decision.

German Marquez will take the ball for Rockies manager Bud Black this evening after getting the win last week against Oakland. The native from Valenzuela is 1-0 in 2 sarts this year with 14 strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings of work and just 2 runs allowed. Last season he was 2-1 in 3 starts against the Giants including a game in which he struck out 9 and allowed just 1 hit in a 4-0 shutout win. However, for Marquez, those 2 wins last year are the only wins out of 8 career starts against the Giants. He is 2-4 otherwise with a 6.60 ERA and has 38 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings pitched.

First pitch is at 5:40 pm
