DRod optioned to Sacramento

Dereck Rodriguez has been sent to Sacramento to find his groove again. Rodriguez is coming off an impressive rookie season at 6-4 with an ERA of 2.81 in 19 starts. This year has been different for Rodriguez, he has a 3-5 record with a 5.05 ERA totaling 28 strikeouts in 41 innings of work. His last three starts have been dreadful going 0-3 and not having won a decision since April 16 at Washington, his ERA in those starts in 8.31 with 6 strikeouts and 12 walks while giving up 5 home runs. Rodriguez is 0-4 at home pitching just 20.1 innings in those starts as opponents are hitting .271 off him and has a 4.43 ERA in front of the home crowd.

Erik Kratz returns to the club after nursing a hamstring strain. He is hitting just .133 in 30 at bats with 1 home run and 3 RBIs.
