Dallas Baptist shortstop goes to SF at 68th

Dallas Baptist shortstop Jimmy Glowenke will lace up his cleats and try to take over Brandon Crawford's starting role. Golwenke was chosen with the Giants 68th pick in today's draft and is ready to get to work.

He was a .340 hitter for the Patriots and collected 17 home runs and an even 100 RBIs in just 3 seasons. Glowenke also tallied 1 triple and 34 doubles while at DBU.

Incredibly, in 526 at-bats he struck out only 76 times and walked 67 including 30 times being hit by a pitch.

This was a compensation pick for Will Smith signing with the Atlanta Braves.
