Cueto, Giants ready for Dodgers and Kershaw

Johnny Cueto faced the Dodgers once at the end of the 2019 season and took the loss after 2 innings. He allowed 5 runs off 5 hits with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk, he made 4 starts after missing most of the year to Tommy John Surgery. He faced the Dodgers twice in 2018 and was 1-0 but for his career, the 34-year-old right-hander is 7-9 in 20 starts. He has 105 strikeouts in 119.2 innings with an ERA of 3.53 totaling just 31 walks. Cueto made his Spring Training debut last week against the Rockies and threw 2 scoreless while allowing 1 hit, struck out and walked 1 batter each.

The 3x Cy Young award winner was 16-5 in 28 starts last season with a 3.03 ERA (highest of career) and 189 strikeouts. Last season, the 31-year-old faced San Francisco 4 times (3 starts) and was 1-2 with a 2.37 ERA, but Kershaw has owned the Giants in his career. He has 23-12 in 49 meetings and has managed a 1.74 ERA with 350 strikeouts in 342.1 innings of work. Kershaw has pitched just 1.2 innings this Spring with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks, all of which came in last weeks 6-5 loss to the Brewers.
