The Sacramento Rivercats and Tacoma Rainiers put on a hitting clinic this afternoon which resulted in a Sacramento walk off win. After the Rivercats were up 3-0 heading into the top of the 4th, Tacoma hung a 7 spot in the inning and chased starter Enderson Franco out of the game by tagging him for 6 runs on 7 hits with 4 strikeouts through 3 innings. Sacramento came back and roughed up Ryan Garton for 5 runs and 6 hits with just 2 strikeouts in his 1.1 inning of relief.
The Rivercats went ahead 9-7 heading into the top of the 8th when JP Crawford homered and Eric Young Jr collected an RBI groundout to tie the game heading into extra innings. The Rivercats tied it in the bottom half of the 10th when Austin Slater walked and Henry Ramos scored off a double by Michael Reed and Slater went to 3rd. Slater scored the winning run when Mike Yastrzemski sacrificed him home with a pop up to left field.
Mike Gerber and Henry Ramos led the Cats to a comeback victory with 3 hits apiece and Abiatal Avelino, Austin Slater and Michael Reed added 2 of their own.
Jose Lobaton had 3 RBIs for Tacoma while Braden Bishop and Austin Nola had 2 each.
Sacramento starts the season at 4-1 with a 7 game road trip beginning in Las Vegas tomorrow.
