Cats clobber Isotopes, 2 games ahead of Fresno

The Sacramento Rivercats destroyed the Albuquerque Isotopes today 13-5 to stay 2 games ahead of the Fresno Grizzlies for 1st place in the Pacific Division.

Before they head home for an 11 game home stand starting tomorrow against the Reno Aces the Cats wanted to make sure their bats were ready.

Today they smashed 4 home runs, 2 from Mike Yastrzemski (5 on the season) in a 13-5 route of the Isotopes. Sacramento pounded out 17 hits including 3 from Yastrzemski, Mike Gerber and Zach Green. Anthony Garcia, Donovan Solano and Ronnie Freeman had 2 each on the day.

Zach Green collected 5 RBIs on the day with 17 on the year and Solano collected 3 of his own to push his season total to 14.

Reliever Steven Okert improved to 2-0 after pitching 1.2 shutout innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 4 batters.
