Cats bullpen blows late lead, lose 8-4

The Sacramento Rivercats almost left Raley Field with a win against one of the PCL's top teams. Sacramento had a 4-3 lead late in the ballgame when Las Vegas sent 8 men to the plate and 5 scored to give the Aviators a late 8-4 win. Breyvic Valera was 3-4 on the night with 3 singles to push his average to .273

Mac WIlliamson came up in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 1 out and Stephen Vogt aboard courtesy of a double. Williamson singled up the middle to score Vogt and on the throw back to 2nd catcher Sean Murphy sailed the throw into center field and Williamson came all the way around to score cutting the Aviators lead to 3-2.

Rivercats pitcher Tyler Beede pitched just 5 innings allowing 3 runs off 2 hits and struckout 9 batters with 2 walks issued. Sacramento relievers Sam Coonrod and Chase Johnson combined to pitch the 9th innings allowing 5 hits and 5 runs with 1 walk. Coonrod was credited with the loss and blown save.
