Blach DFA'd, Webb returns from suspension

The San Francisco Giants have designated veteran pitcher Ty Blach for assignment. The Giants reinstated Logan Webb from the restricted list after serving an 80 game suspension. Blach was optioned and recalled from AAA Sacramento 4 times this year before finally being designated today.

The Creighton University alum was drafted in the 2012 amateur draft in the 5th round and had a record of 15-19 in 87 games for the Giants and made 39 starts. He collected 161 strikeouts in 305.2 innings with an ERA of 4.56 including a 4-2 record against the Dodgers and a 2.82 ERA, the lowest against any team he faced with a minimum of 5 starts.

Logan Webb comes back to the club after being suspended for 80 games for PEDs. The 22-year-old right-hander posted a 2.00 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 31 strikeouts and seven walks over five starts (27 innings) with Double-A Richmond to begin the season
