Tyler Beede proved himself to be in Giants rotation in 2019, contributing to 24 games (22 starts) and going 5-10. He had a 5.08 ERA with 113 strikeouts in 117 innings but his best work came away from Oracle Park, going 4-7. Beede has never faced the Mariners in his career but has split time in between the minors and majors. Last season in 7 starts for the Rivercats, he went 2-2 with a 2.34 ERA, striking out 49 batters in 34.2 innings.
The Seattle Mariners will be calling on Logan Gilbert to start today against the San Francisco Giants. Gilbert, a former first round pick in the 2018 June Amateur draft has never faced the Giants, He hasn't even broke into the big leagues yet but last season he worked his way through the minors. The former Stetson University alum pitched as high as AA for the Arkansas Travelers. He has a combined minors record of 10-5 in 26 starts with a 2.13 ERA which includes 165 strikeouts in 135 innings. Gilbert held his opponents to hit .198 against him with only 33 walks allowed.
