Barraclough DFA, Jerez/Garica optioned, Abad promoted

The San Francisco Giants have made a few roster moves today in order for Dereck Rodriguez to make tonight's start.

They designated reliever Kyle Barraclough for assignment after just 1 game for the Sacramento Rivercats. He allowed 5 runs and 3 hits without recording a single out along with 2 walks. He was signed to a minors deal last week.

Reliever Williams Jerez will be sent back down to AAA Sacramento along with catcher Aramis Garcia. Jerez appeared in just 2 games since during his call up and 2 walks and 2 strikeouts each with 1 earned run along with 3 hits in 1.2 innings.

Aramis Garcia made the start Tuesday against Oakland at first base and went 0-2 with a run scored, walk and a strikeout in the 3-2 win.

Fernando Abad will be brought up after signing a minor league contract with the Giants back in February. Abad has been down in AAA Sacramento and has appeared in 38 games going 2-3 with 49 strikeouts and has walked just 4 batters in 44 innings while having a 3.07 ERA.
