San Francisco Giants pitcher Andrew Suarez looked sharp in his Spring Training debut. He tossed 2 scoreless innings and allowed 1 hit while walking 1 batter and had 2 strikeouts. Shortstop Abiatal Avelino homered in the top of the 3rd inning to give the Giants a quick 1-0 lead and then after a Jamie Westbrook walk, Kean Wong singled him in to make it a 2-0 game. Bryce Johnson singled to open the top of the 8th and after a Brandon Guyer walk, Rob Brantly singled in Johnson to give the Giants a 4-3 lead. The Giants had 3 players with at least 2 hits as they finished with 12 and 4 were extra base hits.

Oakland takes another loss after losing yesterdays game 12-2 against the Cubs. Mike Friars pitched 2 scoreless innings and had only 1 strikeout on the day in his Spring Training debut. Oakland had the bases loaded with 1 out, when Mark Cahna singled off Giants reliever Sam Coonrod that tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Right fielder Luis Barrera had 3 of Oakland's hits, all singles.

The Giants will head back to Scottsdale to face the Diamondbacks as Drew Smyly makes his Giants debut. No, Madison Bumgarner isn't pitching for Arizona but instead Zac Gallen gets the start.
