Auerbach, three tool player joins SF on UDFA

Brett Auerbach thought he was going to play professional baseball for the Rockies when they drafted hi 40th out of the 2018 June Amateur Draft. Instead, he signed with the San Francisco Giants today. The Mission Viejo native started college at Saddleback but then transferred to the University of Alabama. While there, the catcher, third baseman, and outfielder hit .299 with 4 homers and knocked in 42 RBIs totaling 20 doubles.

Auerbach also played in the Cape Cod League for the Brewster Whitecaps and had only 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. He hit .297 in 166 plate appearances but had an OPS of .756 and scored 25 runs.
