Anderson ready for Trout and Angels

Tyler Anderson is still seeking his first win while in a Giants uniform. In his last start, he had a no-decision against the Astros and tossed 5 innings, allowed 4 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks, and struck out 2 batters. Tonight he will make his first start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for the first time since 2018. He took the loss going 5 innings and allowed 4 runs off 6 hits with 3 strikeouts while walking 1 batter. Griffin Canning will take the ball for manager Joe Maddon tonight vs the Giants. Canning has never faced San Francisco and is 5-9 in his 2-year career with a 4.56 ERA. The Halos are 1-3 in his starts on the year but Canning last won a start last season a year to date against the White Sox. Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols enters the series at 659 career home runs - 1 shy of tying Willie Mays. He was held out of the lineup for 2 games against the Dodgers over the weekend. Nothing is wrong with him physically manager Joe Maddon said but is slumping, hitting .186 with 3 homers.
